Newsweek Names MetroHealth Among Best Maternity Hospitals
MetroHealth is named among the best maternity hospitals in the United States by Newsweek. The designation, part of the prestigious hospital ratings list for 2023, is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics
portal and industry ranking provider. A new Birthing Center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), which opened in January, offers 10 birthing rooms, private rooms with space for families, a continued care nursery, wireless fetal monitoring systems and a state-of-the-art NICU.

MetroHealth Joins Guardian Research Network to Expand Research, Patient Care Opportunities
MetroHealth has joined the nationwide healthcare research consortium of Guardian Research Network® (GRN). MetroHealth’s entry into the GRN consortium will give local patients access to innovative therapies. GRN’s pool of real world data will expand, better able to pioneer new precision medicine studies for more effective treatment.

MetroHealth Opens Second Moms House for Pregnant Women in Recovery
Three years after opening its first recovery home for mothers and their children, MetroHealth is opening a second Moms House location to support pregnant women with opioid use disorders. Women who stay at Moms House have full access to MetroHealth’s resources and medical staff to help them in their recovery journey. For
the safety and privacy of residents, the location of the home is not available to the public. To donate to The Moms House, click here then click “Other" in the drop-down menu and indicate that the donation is for the Mother & Child Dependency Sober Housing. Register Now for June 10 Resiliency Run Plan to join us either in person or virtually for the 7th annual Resiliency Run! The event will be held on Saturday, June 10, at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Money raised will benefit trauma and burn survivors who come to MetroHealth for critical care needs as well as other healthcare needs. Children and families are welcome! Admission to the Zoo and Rainforest are included with each entry.

Primary Care Provider Health Talk Available Online
If you missed the April 28 virtual health talk on “Why You Need a Primary Care Provider and How to Choose One,” you can now view a recording of the conversation with Robert D. Bruce, MD, Division Director of Internal Medicine at MetroHealth. Dr. Bruce discussed the importance of needing a primary care provider to act as the quarterback of your health care team, important screenings your primary care provider can order and how to choose the right provider for you.
